Strawberry fields!

Well, in this case strawberry blouses!  I moved away from Peony to start with something nice and simple and chose to make the Sencha blouse...

This was a lovely pattern to use, even for a complete newbie like me and the (almost) finished blouse is beautiful.  I chose a white cotton with a simple strawberry print and it is sooo cute!  Just need to add some strawberry buttons and popper snaps at the back and it will be ready to wear!  I was quite impressed with myself - the next pattern I am going to attempt is Ginger so wish me luck!  I am also considering participating in Tilly's Picnic Blanket skirt sewalong thing, so watch this space....

I will post some piccies once the blouse is finished, but it is delightfully summery!  Can anyone recommend any other patterns suitable for a newbie? I want to get sewing!

A purse...made by me!

I got this kit from Lisa Lam's u-handbag site, and this is the first purse I have ever attempted!!  A bit rough round the edges, but for my first attempt I was quite impressed!

The kit was really easy to use and as it was a gift for my Mum, she was rather surprised and said it was cool!  She was expecting a sock bunny I think...

Anyway, here are the pics...I will be making more of these!

My first dress!

Well, I have decided that my first project is a beautiful dress by Colette patterns.  I am going to make the short sleeved version minus pockets in a stunning medium weight black cotton with white shoes sketched on it.  Absolute bargain from Franklins in Ipswich!

Decided this dress will be perfect for work as well as play with the right accessories.

I have a huge list of clothes that I fancy making but I need to start with something nice and simple to build up my confidence and skills.

On a non crafts note, I have decided to attempt a diet that is very close to veganism....I just hope I can begin to like tofu as I currently cannot stand the stuff!!

Corsage Time!

This is a corsage I made from 'Chic' as well - needs a bit of work but overall I think it is quite cute!!

A purse made out of a tie!

I got this idea from 'Chic on a Shoestring' and made this purse out of an old tie! Really cute and perfect for putting coins, etc in. My partner's tiny Sony also fits in her perfectly!

My next project is a Colette Peony dress out of a stunning black fabric with a beautiful shoe print :) I <3 pretty things!! xx

New purchases....

Well today I visited Franklins in Colchester and found some fabulous cherry printed bias binding, as well as some lovely patterns for me to try.  Pictures to follow....I am so pleased it is the Christmas Holiday as I can really focus on getting better at this and not just making demonic bunnies!!
